Ellen has taught lessons for 20 years to various ages, from 5 to 83. She has run the Fiddleheads Acoustic Music Camp with her fiddling friend Kathy Sommer for 12 years. Instructors at this camp have included Darol Anger, David Surrette, Susie Burke, Ryan Thompson, Seth Austen, Beverly Woods, Rodney Miller, Skip Gorman, Donna Hebert, Liza Constable, Joyce Anderson and others. She also teaches at the Grey Fox Kids Academy with Brian Wicklund. Workshops have been given at the Great Waters Folk Festival with April Verch, Ruth Ungar, and J.P. Cormier. She has taught at the Strawberry Park Kids Academy, Joe Val Bluegrass Festival and has done numerous workshops on improvising and jamming.

Lessons are taught based on what the learner wants to learn – bluegrass, swing, improvising, old time fiddling, celtic and other styles. The learner may also choose to learn by ear or by learning to read music.

Lessons and Workshops: Lessons and workshops are offered on Mondays at Strings and Things in Concord, NH, Tuesday & Thursdays in Exeter, NH , Wednesdays in Tilton, NH and Fridays at The Middle Music School, Franklin, NH. Lessons are also offered on-line via Skype..
